sech1: Hi, the person really needs their money, do you think I could forget about churning just this once, as long as I churn more going forward?
-
selsta
churning definitely isn't mandatory
-
Steven_M
selsta: Could you give me a risk factor as a percentage, or not really?
-
selsta
risk factor for what?
-
Steven_M
of my tx's being traced if I don't churn?
-
selsta
I wouldn't worry about it
-
selsta
don't think there is really a percentage someone can say
-
selsta
different attacks exist
-
selsta
but I personally never worry about churning
-
Steven_M
selsta: okay, thanks. :-)
-
sech1
Steven_M the attack I was talking about is a statistical attack and it only works if you don't churn many times. Just once should be ok.
-
Steven_M
sech1: oh okay, sorry for miss understanding.
-
sech1
in fact, even your original method with 3 wallets is a form of churning and is good enough
-
sech1
good enough if you can do random time intervals
-
Steven_M
sech1: Okay, thanks :)

Mochi101
moneromooo, look at these full node dumps!
blockchair.com/dumps
-
Mochi101
They don't do Monero though.

Hello, is exchange_multisig_keys undocumented on
getmonero.org/resources/developer-guides/wallet-rpc.html or it only exists for CLI wallet?
-
rbrunner
Guest16: It's there, COMMAND_RPC_EXCHANGE_MULTISIG_KEYS, just not / not yet documented. I would recommend anyway to directly consult the header files.

Hi all, I had an older version of monderod and was syncing and it had less than 5000 or 7 days left, then I just upgraded to newer monerod and it sees more than double to sync immediately (12000 or 18 days left)... why simply updating the binary it sees more to sync?
-
selsta
did you update from v0.17 to v0.18
-
tinybronca[m]
selsta: yes
-
selsta
monero hardforked so you had to use v0.18 to see the correct chain
-
tinybronca[m]
Ahhh okay so the new version sees different blocks... I hope my XMR are safe haha
-
selsta
yes
-
tinybronca[m]
"WARNING: Do not reuse your Monero keys on another fork, UNLESS this fork has key reuse mitigations built in. Doing so will harm your privacy."
-
tinybronca[m]
It would be nice if it could, umm, say if 0.18 has these mitigations or not
-
tinybronca[m]
or maybe a link to read more
-
selsta
tinybronca[m]: this isn't relevant for monero upgrades
-
selsta
this is for other coins that fork from monero
-
selsta
monero-classic, monerov, monero original or whatever they were called

Isn't there a risk if you accidentally spend (or attempt to spend) the same output on the old chain and new chain?
