why would my monero gui wallet show a transaction with "unknown Amount"

Seems like just inform portuguese people about Monero

i tried to inform monero but most just don't understand 😢
-
nsaunders
my wallet was nearly finished syncing, but now shows:
pastebin.com/deTQ1C7a I'm using the GUI wallet installed from flatpak
-
gingeropolous
nsaunders, it seems to just be restarting
-
gingeropolous
did you run out of storage?
-
nsaunders
hmm. let me check space.
-
nsaunders
oh my goodness, full hard drive
-
nsaunders
I thought it would only store a small amount of info!? Perhaps it can be pruned or something
-
nsaunders
on Linux, where are the transactions for a wallet stored? And, would there a command I can run to shrink the command. This is a very simple wallet with seven transactions.
-
gingeropolous
i assume its trying to run a full node?
-
gingeropolous
there is a pruning option. unfortunately, you have to start the sync over with the pruned option enabled
-
gingeropolous
nsaunders, this is the flag: --prune-blockchain
-
gingeropolous
you'll have to go into advanced mode in the gui and put --prune-blockchain in the daemon startup flags field
-
nsaunders
ah, okay I'll do that again with the prune option. I thought I'd selected something like that from within the GUI. Where is the data being stored? I asked here also:

the blockchain will be in .bitmonero
-
gingeropolous
~/.bitmonero
-
gingeropolous
ermagerd the gui with the closing wallet spinnies
-
gingeropolous
yeah there's no prune checkbox in the gui
-
gingeropolous
wait what version am i on
-
gingeropolous
eh, 18.1.2... it'd be there if it was there
-
nsaunders
it's less than one gig when I run du -h .bitmonero/ is that about right?
-
nsaunders
On the GUI, I'm selecting simple mode withouth the bootstrap, so no download of the blockchain, but even in the "advanced options" see nothing about pruning the blockchain.
-
nsaunders
might the cli, installed via apt, have stored blockchain data elsewhere? version 17
-
nsaunders
how would I determine whether I have enough space for a full node, pruned node, etc?

-
jeffro256[m]
<nsaunders> "might the cli, installed via apt..." <- The version on apt is outdated by many years. Version 17 will not work on current chain
-
saunders
Yeah, and v18 of the cli won't build on Ubuntu. Or so they say. Of course, the GUI on flatpak installed fine. I can't see why there's no cli on flatpak, but there you are.
-
jeffro256[m]
<saunders> "Yeah, and v18 of the cli won't..." <- it builds fine on Ubuntu for me? Which Ubuntu & which version of monero are you trying to build ?
-

Oh, I was going by an answer on ask Ubuntu

hrm, now my node seems stuck here: Height: 2199748/2199748 (100.0%) on mainnet, not mining, net hash 1.47 GH/s, v12 (next fork in 14.2 days), 12(out)+0(in) connections, uptime 1d 16h 29m 22s

-
gingeropolous
the hottest hotness
-
selsta
a couple things to test
-
selsta
were you able to sync up with fast-sync=1 ?
-
gingeropolous
i mean, this box was running monerod and was fully syncd (using like v0.18.1.2 or something) before I embarked on this current test
-
gingeropolous
so, I haven't tested v0.18.2.2 with fast-sync=1 yet
-
selsta
did you change any db-sync settings?
-
gingeropolous
no, I just added fast-sync=0 to my monerod.conf
-
gingeropolous
oh shit its MRL meeting time aint it
-
selsta
i'd try a sync with release binaries and fast sync enabled as a first test
-
gingeropolous
sounds good. like, release binaries I gotta download?
-
selsta
yes
-
selsta
it could be a rare bug that gets easier triggered due to disabling fast sync causing more strain on the db
-
selsta
or it's something hardware related
-
selsta
hyc1: do you have any suggestions? gingeropolous tried syncing up twice with fast-sync disabled and both times it looks like the db corrupted
monero-project/monero #8875
-
gingeropolous
currently syncing with downloaded release binaries and default fast-sync=1

blargh. , what = Error adding spent key image to db transaction: MDB_PAGE_FULL: Internal error - page has no more space

-
gingeropolous
but now im not getting the mdb full thing on my log stream
-
gingeropolous
well might as well see if it happens again, only took ~1 hr
-
gingeropolous
what is the format for --add-priority-node?
-
gingeropolous
is it ip.address.goes.here:thentheport ?
-
gingeropolous
or is it just IP address/
-
gingeropolous
because my sync info indicates that im not syncing from my priority nodes
-
selsta
gingeropolous: i don't think this is related to mdb_stat
-
selsta
you can check with print_cn to see your connections

but no errors in the log stream
-
gingeropolous
well log level 4 here we go
-
selsta
log 2 is enough, no need for 4
-
gingeropolous
hrm
-
selsta
the fact that you got a db error already during sync is suspicious
-
gingeropolous
well there's no error this time around
-
gingeropolous
at least not according to the logs
-
gingeropolous
the behavior is much different. last time it was spitting out a lot of logs.
-
gingeropolous
like, the DB error message would show up in the log stream
-
gingeropolous
i had the log stream grep'd with ERROR during the entire sync and there wasn't much of any this time around, except your standard levin errors
