Unfortunately I have a corrupted blockchain. I'm on linux, does anyone have advice on how to run the --db-salvage flag? I understand I need to run it from the same folder as monerod, but I can only find monerod in /bin/ and when I run it I get an error.

However you do that, do that and add thr --db-salvage flag

im assuming you use the command `monerod`.

If you have to resync, its recommmended that you switch tk the official binaries from getmonero.org, or the flatpak

For another, like plowsof already mentioned, Monero's pow algo is designed to be mined by cpus, which are general purpose hardware, so they can always be reused for anything else even many years down the line. ASICs, on the other hand, become dead paperweights once they stop being productive (ie once a new generation of ASICs with higher efficiency comes out)

Our monetary systems are debt based, and in order to pay back that debt you need perpetual growth, which is not possible in a finite world. The targeted 2% inflation rate incentives people to participate in the stock economy, which in turn forces companies to grow at all costs, including damage to the environment. It also fuels consumerism, low quality products with short lifetime, anti repair, DRM and much more corporate BS that is a net loss

on humanity as a whole.

Compared to this, the impact of all POW crypto summed together is just a rounding error
