<jordan_sanchez:matrix.org> We're still early but your suggestion is helpful.
-
m-relay
<jordan_sanchez:matrix.org> I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help.
-
m-relay
<jordan_sanchez:matrix.org> I'm glad you've found a temporary solution until hopefully something better comes along.

<jordan_sanchez:matrix.org> Cake tends to be reliable, & helpful, I know cake pay had a rough patch last year but you can easily reach out to the support team, & they should be able to resolve your issues.
-
m-relay
<jordan_sanchez:matrix.org> Your best bet is usually emailing them, using the chat support in the app, or reaching out like ofrnxmr suggested, many people affiliated with cake are also in most monero groups.

mesaoptimizer: Actually, I was the person who recommended those two books. I don't know that they're usually recommended in this channel generally, but I recommend them generally.
-
Guest5
what were the books?
-
apotheon
A couple other books to throw on the pile are Homebrew Industrial Revolution by Kevin Carson and In Defense of Anarchism by Robert Paul Wolff.
-
apotheon
Guest5: An Agorist Primer, by SEK3, and Second Realm: Book on Strategy, by Smuggler and xyz.

All are pretty easy/short reads except Homebrew Industrial Revolution.

I'm gradually working my way through The Monero Standard now, but I'm not sure yet whether I'd recommend it.

I wonder if there's a great civilian opsec book addressing both cyberspace and meatspace. I'd love to broaden my understanding of these topics, but so far opsec stuff seems to be mostly a matter of oral tradition and the military industrial complex.

Maybe something like "How to Disappear: Erase Your Digital Footprint, Leave False Trails, and Vanish without a Trace" by Frank Ahearn and Eileen C. Horan

mesaoptimizer
apotheon: oh yeah it was probably you since anarkio isn't usually on IRC

m-relay
<eudaimon36:matrix.org> yea, then he can spend a month trying to get basicswapdex working

And basicswap seems super easy now (?)

m-relay
<karano:poddery.com> How much time does it take for my balance to become spendable
-
ofrnxmr
20mins (10 confirmations)
-
m-relay
<karano:poddery.com> I have already received more than 10 confirmations
-
ofrnxmr
Is it a block reward? If not, 10 conf.
-
m-relay
<karano:poddery.com> The wallet still shoes will till balance gets dependable even after like an hour
-
ofrnxmr
which wallet are you using?
-
m-relay
<karano:poddery.com> I withdrew xmr from my pool balance to my wallet
-
m-relay
<karano:poddery.com> I used official desktop monero wallet
-
m-relay
<karano:poddery.com> I withdrew from moneroocean pool
-
m-relay
<karano:poddery.com> Waited for like 1.5 hrs after withdrawal took place to spend it
-
ofrnxmr
What version of monero desktop wallet are you using?
-
m-relay
<karano:poddery.com> Latest 18.1 i guess
-
ofrnxmr
Seems like a very solvable issue, likely a problem with software version or the connected node
-
m-relay
<karano:poddery.com> 18.3.1*
-
m-relay
<karano:poddery.com> My node should also be updated though
-
ofrnxmr
correct version. Local node? In bottom left corner, are both lines showing synced?
-
m-relay
<karano:poddery.com> Maybe network issue then
-
m-relay
<karano:poddery.com> Yeah they were synced
-
RavFX
I also got issue with basicswap, like send nero (work fine), send more nero later (no show). Node was synced and basicswap was showing the last block number. If it's still no show, you can get the wallet file from the basicswap installation and open it with feather and fish your monero our.

-
ofrnxmr
If instant gratification is your thing: mine usi; p2pool - easiest is gupax.io . If high pay: moneroocean on rx/0
-
ofrnxmr
Using* p2pool
-
trask
perfect answer :)
-
trask
hope to do first 1 then the other
-
ofrnxmr
The first is really all you need. The second is good if you want to help pump the price of monero and still be able to pay the bills
