I used I2P years ago. While the protocol itself is really neat, the i2pd daemon always crashes, and the other 2 daemons are all Java-based bloatware.
-
BlueyHealer
I never experienced i2pd outright crash - just slow speed (and my connection was always "firewalled").
-
uncle_rae
one of these days i'll give i2p another try but there just aren't enough people using it for it be worthwhile like tor
-
remiliascarlet
Definitely the best thing about the I2P network is that most of the Eepsites aren't Javascript-only pieces of crap.
-

Apple singlehandedly destroyed the sucky thing called Flash, only to then replace it with something that used to suck slightly less, which has then rapidly evolved into something that sucks far more.
-
BlueyHealer
Yea, I loved that it has the old-school vibe! We need Internet like this.
-
remiliascarlet
Flash was horrible, especially when it comes to multiplatform support, but at least the coders knew how to code. With Javascript though, out of all the software written in JS over the past 10 years, 90% of the entire codebases are not written by the developers of said software.

<ctrej:matrix.org> >Reason: double spend
-
m-relay
<ctrej:matrix.org> That means it doesn't work anymore, because you spend it before in the CLI shell
-
m-relay
<pcre:matrix.org> But i did it the other way around.
-
m-relay
<pcre:matrix.org> first i called it with the --command option and later called it from the monoero-wallet-cli shell
-
m-relay
<pcre:matrix.org> Maybe i need to set some kind of quotes --command "transfer monero:AAl...St?tx_amount=0.0000007878787"
-
m-relay
<pcre:matrix.org> but wont work.
-
m-relay
<pcre:matrix.org> Maybe it is a bug.
-
m-relay
<ctrej:matrix.org> hmm, strange
-
m-relay
<pcre:matrix.org> Ahh. found the solution. i had to call --command refresh first.
-
m-relay
<pcre:matrix.org> a bit strange, because it was synced and i hit refresh inside the monero-wallet-cli shell

<pcre:matrix.org> If Monero survives this low, it will emerge stronger, with DEX, atomic swaps and Cypherpunk. Some early Bitcoin maximalists will take notice. Because they always wanted something like this.
-
m-relay
<pcre:matrix.org> And the maximalists also know that if Monero can be censored away, so can Bitcoin. It's quite possible that the nerds will soon turn up here to support the network.

-
m-relay
<korgprivacy:matrix.org> TODAY'S 🎙SHOW: In part two of Douglas Tuman’s interview with Andrey starts with a discussion about cryptonote white paper author, Nicolas van Saberhagen, aka the Satoshi of Monero, and his potential thoughts on Monero and Zano and what he may think about how the CryptoNote protocol has evolved since inventing it.
-
m-relay
<korgprivacy:matrix.org> The conversation delves into Zano's confidential assets feature and use cases such as creating a privacy-focused stable coin and decentralized bridges for exchanging assets from other blockchains. They also cover regulatory challenges and the project developments that make Monero and Zano censorship-resistant.
