ArsenyTarkovsky
guys do you think it's a good idea to make my local monero node public?
-
ArsenyTarkovsky
if I'm using it with p2pool
-
ArsenyTarkovsky
it won't add cpu load on my homelab? just curious
-
ArsenyTarkovsky
or maybe bandwidth usage will increase too much? don't want to interrupt p2pool

<fabio12345765345:matrix.org> Hi guys
-
MRV
Being a Monero Fan boy, I inherently blindly hated ZCash
-
MRV
The price action is now flipping at my face
-
Sindy
if all you care about is "line go up"
-
Sindy
then you weren't much of a fan, just another "investor"
-
MRV
True dat, am just saying, I dont hold neither btw
-
MRV
CPU Mine go brrr

ArsenyTarkovsky
check out my node guys: eleet.1337.cx:18089
-
ArsenyTarkovsky
decided to host it everywhere so other links here
eleet.1337.cx
-
ArsenyTarkovsky
can someone verify if I configured monerod correctly?
paste.debian.net/plainh/9c77dbfe
-
ArsenyTarkovsky
or maybe there is a space for improvements, in terms of connectivity, etc
-
plowsof
just checking if rpc-restricted exists
-
plowsof
you have explicitly set the restricted ports, if rpc-restircted exists it _sounds_ like it could disable the unrestricted access you require for mining at 18081 hm
-
sech1
max-log-file-size is too small
-
sech1
mining can work with restricted rpc
-
plowsof
oh i see, no ill effects? only for wallets?
-
sech1
Restricted RPC blocks mining on monerod side, but get_block_template rpc (used for solo mining) is not restricted so you can use xmrig
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr> restricted-rpc will block other useful commands, but if you dont use them it doesnt matter
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr> I dont use restricted-rpc, confirm-external-bind, and rpc-bind-ip
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr> (because i want unrestricted access for myself)
-
ArsenyTarkovsky
ofrnxmr: what are the benefits of using unrestricted rpc?
-
ArsenyTarkovsky
p2pool is connected locally, no problems with it btw
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> ArsenyTarkovsky: Access to accurate info on get_info, ability to stop the node, pop blocks, view connections etc
-
ArsenyTarkovsky
understantable :)

<gogo2464:matrix.org> Hello. I think I already have restored my monero from seed with the client . I do not see the transaction history anymore from the tool got from getmonero. Should I restore the same seed with the good date to recover please? Best regards.
-
br-m
<ravfx:xmr.mx> @gogo2464:matrix.org: Yes, you need to restore from a date that is prior your first transaction
-
br-m
<ravfx:xmr.mx> any date before will work (but the older the date the longer to sync)
-
br-m
<gogo2464:matrix.org> @ravfx:xmr.mx AH OK !! hanks!! and if too recent, then my treansaction history will not be there?
-
br-m
<gogo2464:matrix.org> butr an account will be present in my wallet
-
br-m
<ravfx:xmr.mx> Yes, and it will be usable.
-
br-m
<ravfx:xmr.mx> Actually if the account was empty then restoring with a fresh date allow you to wait less.
-
br-m
<ravfx:xmr.mx> @gogo2464:matrix.org
-
br-m
<gogo2464:matrix.org> I still do not see my multiple account wallets
-
br-m
<ravfx:xmr.mx> @gogo2464:matrix.org: Wait, you said account. That I can't say, I only use subaddress.
-
br-m
<ravfx:xmr.mx> The accounts won't probably show up if it can see any outputs landing in them
-
br-m
<gogo2464:matrix.org> @ravfx:xmr.mx : THANK YOU VERY MUCH! I found back my monerrroes! But the seed did not helped at all. I got a private key. How can I genereate a new seed from this private key please? :')
-
br-m
<ravfx:xmr.mx> @gogo2464:matrix.org: If you got it working in a wallet then you can export the seed from the wallet.
-
br-m
<gogo2464:matrix.org> @ravfx:xmr.mx I got the same seed as the "wrong one" in the setting. why did it genereated a wrong wallet? did I missed the wallet height or else?
-
br-m
<ravfx:xmr.mx> @gogo2464:matrix.org: Maybe, you need to restore with a height that is prior your first transaction..
