<kriek:matrix.org> Hi all, the only safe way to buy monero is through haveno right?
-
br-m
<eddie:oblak.be> Not the only safe way, but one of them
-
br-m
<eddie:oblak.be> Certainly a good way
-
br-m
<kriek:matrix.org> If you know other ways I’m all ears :)
-
br-m
<kriek:matrix.org> There are too much fee on haveno imo
-
br-m
-
br-m
<eddie:oblak.be> It also depend what you mean with safe. I assume you mean private? Because less private ways can be safe too
-
snake
idk i dont like the 3rd party arbitrator
-
snake
i would rather there be a way for a smart contract
-
br-m
<torir:matrix.org> You can browse through
xmrbazaar.com/search/buy-exchange (read reviews and be wary of potential scams), buy Monero via a cex if that is available in your country, or buy a different coin and swap it for Monero via a swap service such as
trocador.app or an atomic swap program like BasicSwapDex.
-
br-m
<eddie:oblak.be> snake: Isn't that what basicswap does ?
-
br-m
<namenet:matrix.org> @eddie:oblak.be: No they use atomic swaps.
-
br-m
<eddie:oblak.be> I thought atomic swaps rely on smart contracts
-
br-m
<kriek:matrix.org> Right so maybe trocador it’s my best choice
-
br-m
<kriek:matrix.org> Thanks!
-
br-m
<torir:matrix.org> On BasicSwapDex, atomic swaps for Monero use script on coins that support that, but only to use a 2-of-2 multisig address on the script coin. It's not really a "smart contract". It is atomic though, since as long as you are online before it expires, the swap can either be fully completed or safely reversed.
-
br-m
<eddie:oblak.be> allright, thanks for that clarification :)
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> evm atomic swaps use a smart contract
-

<kriek:matrix.org> Cake wallet is too risky?
