I (stupidly) decided to see what the "checkblockchainpruning" command does (since it's not documented in the --help) expecting it to just print some info, but, after running it, monerod printed one synced block and is now frozen. "monerod status" prints "Error: Problem fetching info-- rpc_request"

<maxlpm:tchncs.de> I've tried sending "monerod exit" from a different terminal and sending SIGTERM, but it's still running and writing data to my drive, while somehow the blockchain size remains the same. I think killing is the only solution here but I'm afraid of corrupting the blockchain file
