There's so many pending-review PRs, when is next release planned?
-
ro1m
I assume at least after this is cleared up?
monero-project/monero #10545

<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> That list may continue to grow indefinitely

<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> Release comes when release is warranted
-
ro1m
What warrants a release?
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> could release quickly due to a dependency securoty update, could release quickly due to a regression
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> Could release slowly because everything is superficial
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> Releases are typically bug fixes. Were obv not going to rush a release due to spelling errors and micro optimizations
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> thered no hard rule about when to release. We release when weve included some good amount or good quality bugfixes

<john_xmr:matrix.org> Hey Monero bro!
-
br-m
<john_xmr:matrix.org> I’m John, a long-time XMR miner and privacy advocate based in France. While Monero has a solid online presence, I want to push for more real-world visibility here in French streets and cities.

<john_xmr:matrix.org> Guerrilla marketing works. There's nothing quite like seeing the Monero logo out in the wild to spark curiosity and get everyday people looking into real digital cash.[... more lines follow, see

How long is "long-term"?

<hbs:matrix.org> @john_xmr:matrix.org: France or ... Paris?

Colorado or... Denver?

<john_xmr:matrix.org> Haha, definitely NOT just Paris! I'm based in the Isère region (near Lyon / Bourgoin-Jallieu), so the stickers are going to hit regional cities and rural areas too. Paris gets enough attention, we need true geographical decentralization for this campaign!

@john_xmr:matrix.org: How long is "long-term"? " I’m John, a long-time XMR miner...."

<john_xmr:matrix.org> I might not be a 2014 OG, but I've been holding and actively CPU mining for a while to support the RandomX decentralization. Currently pushing hashes on a 10-core Apple Silicon M5 via MoneroOcean! It’s all about supporting the network and the privacy ethos. ⛏️

@john_xmr:matrix.org Interesting... and... you are mining on a laptop?
-
br-m
<john_xmr:matrix.org> Yes, but it's an Apple Silicon M5 ARM. The performance-per-watt ratio on RandomX is insane compared to x86. I’m not running it 24/7 on battery either; it's on a dedicated external ventilated stand to keep thermals strictly under control. The setup is clean. 💻❄️

<jbabb:cypherstack.com> What software are you using to mine, @john_xmr:matrix.org?
-
sech1
john_xmr are you mining on macbook air? What's the hashrate and power at the wall?
-
br-m
<john_xmr:matrix.org> @Josh Babb I'm using XMRig connected to the MoneroOcean pool. @sech1 It's a MacBook Pro, not an Air (active cooling is mandatory!). I'm pushing around 5,000 H/s (5 KH/s). I don't have a wattmeter at the wall right now, but it's Apple Silicon magic, so it barely sips power compared to a standard x86 rig.
