as for xmr-pocket-node, I discovered a fairly old/archived project on github, and I brought it back from the dead and added a little bit of style to it. Would be great if a real Android dev could take it under their wing.

Would be amazing to see a nice background service get added and have the app updated to the latest Android api/released to FDroid. Would probably be the easiest node to use in the whole ecosystem

I'm unsure their involvement with and creation of products for the ecosystem should be considered a takeover. There are arguably(?) more independent projects related to Monero as there was before their arrival. Core is still independent, CCS remains the primary dev funding mechanism. The ecosystem is growing.

A user can interact with the Monero ecosystem and never touch a Cake product or something funded exclusively by Cake
