Does everyone know what a boxplot is?
-
jeffro256[m]
That's like the box you put the plot in right?
-
Rucknium[m]
Maybe I will make a boxplot for my blog and then just a bar chart of the averages for Reddit.
-
Siren[m]
Averages of what?
-
Siren[m]
Come on now don't brag about 2 lines of R :D
-
Rucknium[m]
The working title of the plot is "Time Between Transactions Entering the Mempool and Becoming Candidates for Blockchain Confirmation, by Mining Pool". Not great, I know.

Does GPT3 still think that Z-trash is Zcash or they patched it?
-
RavFX[m]
Yes, it does
-
RavFX[m]
In what point Monero is better than Z-Trash?
-
RavFX[m]
A: Monero is a privacy-focused blahblah
-
RavFX[m]
Zcash, on the other hand, uses zero-knowledge proofs blah blah
-
RavFX[m]
GPT3 is kinda crashy tonight
-
as2333
RavFX[m] gtp3 doesn't exactly 'think' - it's just a copypasta database
-
RavFX[m]
as2333: I know, just really good at it.

Does anyone know the technical aspects behing the claim "MoneroBlock is a trustless block explorer for the Monero payment network."
github.com/duggavo/MoneroBlock
-
xmrack[m]
What makes it trustless?
-
Morpheus[m]
Okay, so Trocador was banned from posting on Reddit, suposedly because of using bots, but this is ridiculous.
-
-
Morpheus[m]
"This account is banned for suspected bot activity. If you think this is an error, please contact the moderators."
-
Morpheus[m]
This is absurd. This is a joke, right?
-
Morpheus[m]
We have never paid bots to push posts. It's the other way around. Some competitor paid bots to DOWNVOTE our post. See:
reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/1077vf4/comment/j3ojsa1
-
Morpheus[m]
Since our days from Moneroj.net we have NEVER used bots, and all our posts stay with 90-98% upvotes. But now that we are delivering payment solutions, our post suddenly gets only 25 upvotes and loses 20-30 upvotes, and stays at 73%. This is ridiculous. Can someone explain to me which post we've made that had bots? We have literally only this post published and CLEARLY this has not received upvotes from bots.
-
Morpheus[m]
Lost a little bit of faith in this community, some moderator is either retarded or is getting money from a competitor.
-
-
Morpheus[m]
My last Moneroj post, gets 97% upvotes organically
-
-
Morpheus[m]
But when we deliver a full payment solution, BAM! 73% upvotes and we get banned
-
DanIsnotthemanBr
plowsof:

Morpheus[m]
I'm terribly pissed off
-
Morpheus[m]
This is ridiculous
-
-
Morpheus[m]
You can literally see bots downvoting our post when some competitor took notice of it
-
Morpheus[m]
I posted a similar thread on r/btc and my post had huge positive margin, even with their community having 30% of the activity monero has
-
-
DanIsnotthemanBr
Need to get alternative to reddit
-
Morpheus[m]
This is also something that could be easily exploited by a competitor. For example, if the competitor instead of buying DOWNVOTES, bought 300 UPVOTES to our thread, we would be banned as well. I've seen something similar happen before. You wait your competitor to publish a post, and upvote massively his post, until it becomes obvious that someone is using bots.
-
Morpheus[m]
In our case, it's obvious someone bought downvotes and got us banned, which is ridiculous. But if the competitor had been smarter, it would look like we were the ones buying upvotes, so it would be impossible to dismiss the charge.
-
Morpheus[m]
Well, let's just hope reason prevails on this. I've sent a message to moderators, will wait.
-
Morpheus[m]
Ok, good, moderators unbanned us.
-
Morpheus[m]
All good now, sorry for the drama.

i just used the farcaster gui to atomic swap montero successfully - i now have a migraine but it worked

I clicked through it, had too many boxes to fill
-
monerobull[m]1
Basicswap is already confusing enough and you only have to enter amounts, time, ratio and if its fixed or not
-
plowsof11
all you have to do is start a monero-wallet-rpc with correct flags / pointed at a node. download / install the rust crate, add the bin folder to your path so you can access the "farcasterd" directly from your terminal, then you need to find the the config file which is in a different folder. paste a few lines you found from github to enable gRPC (this enabled the GUI to work) - then you have to convert the BTC values to mBTC (if
-
plowsof11
you;re using electrum like me , else the swap aborts because you send the wrong amount) then you just wait, and it works, simple

> Connecting to a counterparty will require knowledge of their daemon's address, and the amounts traded (i.e. the price and quantity). Creating a platform such as a DEX, allowing people to find each other and "auto" connect with the correct arguments or negotiate the price, is out-of-scope for this project.

i have only tried buying monero with btc - but yes, ill try buying btc with monero (seems to be possible)

plowsof: i recognize the manual setup is quite involving, but if you have docker installed it can be as easy as ‘docker compose up’ (I should update a bit the compose file to include latest feature tho). Otherwise install should be managed as a package, AUR, rpm, deb, Flatpak, … and the choice is large (and I only mentioned Linux target) so we didn’t put much effort there
-
h4sh3d
Rucknium[m]: the idea is to not be opinionated about how people find each other and negotiate trades(deals in Farcaster term), that’s why we put it out of scope
